Reclamation Church daycare permit approved by Plano council

A request for a specific-use permit for a daycare center at a religious facility was approved by Plano City Council.

The application for Reclamation Church’s daycare, which will be located at 901 Cross Bend Road, was considered by council during its Sept. 11 meeting.

The gist

The church’s property is located within an area currently zoned for single-family residences, according to a council memo. City documents also contain information indicating the presence of two other daycare centers nearby, both of which also have specific-use permits.

Director of Planning Christina Day said the daycare will operate outside of normal church hours. The specific-use permit would also allow the applicant to expand its existing in-home daycare facility.
