New pro shop opens at High Point Park Tennis Center in Plano

A new, two-story pro shop opened at the High Point Park Tennis Center Nov. 16, according to a city news release.

The 8,000-square-foot shop, located at 421 W. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, is part of a larger renovation project underway at the center. The former shop is going to be demolished to make room for a new court, according to the release.

The pro shop sells tennis apparel, shoes and gear. It also offers tennis racket stringing services.

This is the first major center renovation since it opened 42 years ago. Updates include a new center court and playground, scheduled to be complete in January, as well as renovated courts, larger restrooms, new viewing balconies and indoor social areas.

The center, which is owned and operated by the city, houses 21 lighted tennis courts and eight pickleball courts. It is used for tennis leagues, private lessons for both children and adults, adult mixers, and programs, including open play for pickleball and tennis.

The entire project, led by Pogue Construction Company, is expected to be finished in late February. The center is still open while under construction, according to the release.
