A new boutique hotel is opening in the Legacy District in October 2027.
The gist
The Miyako Hybrid Hotel is a 217-room facility with meeting and event space and a contemporary ballroom. The Hotel’s amenities can be used for conferences, meetings, weddings, galas and private events according to a city news release.
“Our vision is to create a hotel experience that combines elevated design, exceptional service, and highly functional meeting space,” General Manager Alejandro Vazquez said in a statement.
The Miyako Hybrid Hotel will be located near the former JCPenney headquarters, per previous reporting.
The background
The $117 million hotel started construction in October 2025 and has been projected to open in fall 2027. Visit Plano, the city’s destination management and marketing organization, confirmed a scheduled opening date of October 1 in a social media post July 8.
Kinetsu Group Holdings is working on the project and is its third project in the United States, per previous reporting. Plano City Council also approved a grant and tax relief plan for the project in October 2025 to support marketing and tourism efforts.
