What you need to know about Plano facility closures for Memorial Day

Ahead of the Memorial Day holiday, several Plano facilities will be closed, in addition to delayed recycling collections.

According to the city’s holiday hours, many of the recreation facilities will have modified hours May 27. All trash and recycling closures for the week will be pushed back one day.

The overview

Per the holiday hours, the some city facilities will be closed May 27 in observance of Memorial Day, including:

• Plano Animal Shelter
• Day Labor Center
• Household Chemical Reuse Center
• Interurban Railway Museum
• The Davis, Haggard, Harrington, Parr and Schimelpfenig libraries
• Plano Municipal Center staff offices
• Nature and Retreat Center at Oak Point Park
• Sam Johnson Recreation Center
• Texas Pure Products Regional Composting Site and the Custer Road Facility

The High Point Tennis Center will be open May 27 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Pecan Hollow Golf Course will be open from daylight until dusk.

The following facilities will be open from 1-6 p.m. May 27:

• Carpenter Park, Oak Point, Liberty and Tom Muehlenbeck recreation centers
• Jack Carter Pool
• Plano Aquatic Center
