Plano’s population grew older from 2018 to 2023, according to newly released US census data.

Plano’s population grew by nearly 3,000 over the five-year span, increasing 0.97%. Over the same time frame, Collin and Denton County’s populations grew by 26.58% and 24.86%, respectively.
From 2018-23, the median age in Plano increased 38.6 to 39.3 years old. In 2018, 22.8% of Plano residents were under 18 years old, compared to 21.3% in 2023. Meanwhile, 20.4% of Plano residents were over the age of 60 in 2023, up from 18.6% in 2018.
