Pflugerville will hold its third and fourth tree planting events in an effort to plant over 300 native trees in local neighborhoods.
The details
The community-driven project, led by volunteers and Citizen Pforester graduates, aims to plant 20-50 trees per session, with a goal of reaching 335 trees. Planting trees in qualifying neighborhoods increases the total tree canopy and mitigates surface and air temperature, according to the city.
Pflugerville residents can volunteer to plant trees in the in the Windermere, Watson Park and Hillside Springs neighborhoods on March 8 and April 5. In case of inclement weather, the makeup events will be the following week of each date.
