Due to several scenarios that affected attendance at Pflugerville ISD during the 2021-22 school year, district officials unanimously approved a waiver request to help mitigate state funding losses.
During a July 14 meeting, PfISD Chief Financial Officer Jennifer Land told board members districts and campuses may request a waiver from Foundation School Program, a funding wing of the Texas Education Association.
"We have identified 16 campuses [with] either one or more dates that met this criteria, and we have to submit this waiver by the end of July," Land said. "This is something that will increase our funding. We're not looking at a substantial amount—not millions of dollars—but at this point I think we need to make sure we are being good stewards, and we are trying to capture any and all revenue that we can."
Land did not specify how much money the district could save through the waiver.
