Hutto ISD officials gave approvals for several district contracts Feb. 27, including improvements to existing facilities and the design of its ninth elementary school.

Trustees approved three contracts for heating, ventilation and air conditioning at Hutto Elementary School and Hutto High school; a proposal to replace roofing at Farley Middle School and Veteran's Hill Elementary School; and professional design services for the next elementary school. The latter would be slated to open in the fall of 2027, said Dustin Barton, HISD's assistant superintendent of operations.
Between the three contracts, costs total around $5.5 million.
