Two board seats, occupied by trustees Felix Chavez and Shara Turner, are up for reelection in May. Candidates elected to each seat will serve a three-year term.

The filing period for candidacy in the May 2 board election opened Jan. 14 and will close at 5 p.m. Feb. 13. Feb. 17 is the deadline to file a declaration of write-in candidacy, according to the Texas Secretary of State.
