The city of Pearland awarded a construction services contract Dec. 5 to Reliable Signal & Lighting Solutions LLC for a program that will upgrade up to 29 intersections along five major roadway corridors throughout the city.
This multiyear traffic signal upgrade program will remove and replace signal control cabinets and detection systems and install new battery backup systems. According to the latest update made to the Pearland Traffic Operations Department by the city’s contractors, the new traffic control cabinets are expected to be delivered by February.
“This will bring 29 of our traffic signals to current standards, replacing outdated and failing equipment,” interim City Manager Trent Epperson said.
