East Orange Street will be closed to eastbound traffic between Hwy. 35 and North Houston Avenue to allow for drainage and paving work. North Houston will be closed to through traffic between Plum Street and East Orange. The closures start Wednesday, April 4, and last for the next four or five weeks. Old Alvin Road between Town Ditch and McHard Road is still closed to southbound traffic. The road is only one way northbound. The section of Old Alvin between McHard Road and the driveway of Cockrell Elementary School will remain open to two-way traffic.
