Alvin ISD students will start school Aug. 13 for the 2024-25 school after the district’s board of trustees approved the new academic calendar at its Jan. 9 meeting.

While the bulk of students will start Aug. 13, transition students in pre-K, kindergarten, sixth grade and ninth grade will begin school on Aug. 12, according to district agenda documents.
The calendar was drafted by the AISD District Education Improvement Committee, which consists of staff, parents and community members, according to the documents.
