Checkers is set to open a Pearland store Oct. 29 at 7305 W. Broadway St. as part of the chain’s expansion into the Houston area. The fast-food chain serves burgers, french fries and shakes. The chain will open Houston locations through the summer and fall of this year. www.checkers.com
