Friendswood and League City recently agreed to increase their contributions to a collaborative project to install a traffic signal at the accident-prone Grissom Road and Bay Area Boulevard intersection.
What happened
Friendswood City Council and League City City Council voted unanimously March 2 and Feb. 24, respectively, to increase their cost-sharing agreement for the Grissom Road and Bay Area Boulevard capital improvement project by $37,500 each.
The intersection, which sits along the boundary between the two cities, was flagged in a traffic signal analysis for a high number of accidents, according to Friendswood city documents.
