Several aging wastewater lift stations in Pearland will receive major upgrades after City Council approved a $4.7 million construction contract at its July 13 meeting.

Why now?
The three lift stations have been operating for more than two decades and have not received major renovations since they were originally built or brought into the city’s system, city documents show.
A 2020 Wastewater Master Plan assessment found the facilities ranged from fair to very poor condition and identified increased operational risks, including the possibility of sanitary sewer overflows, documents show.
Looking ahead
Construction is expected to begin in August, with completion anticipated by November 2027, according to city documents.
