Cedric O. Patterson has been appointed as Brazoria County Emergency Service District No. 3 new chief fire administrator, according to a news release from the emergency service district.
Patterson has over 30 years of fire service leadership experience from various entities.

Patterson's experience includes service as a firefighter, captain, battalion chief, assistant fire chief and district fire chief. Most recently, Patterson served as district fire chief for U.S. Navy District 3 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, according to the news release.
Patterson holds a master's degree in strategic management of organizations and a bachelor's degree in management. He is also a graduate of the Fire Service Executive Development Institute, the Fire Service Chief Executive Officer Program at Mays Business School and the National Fire Academy's New Executive Chief Officer Course, the news release notes.

In his new role, Patterson will work closely with Brazoria County ESD No. 3 leadership and the district's fire departments to support operational readiness, training, recruitment, leadership development and long-range planning, according to the news release.
Brazoria County ESD No. 3 covers approximately 650 square miles and serves more than 86,000 residents through 13 contracted fire and emergency medical service providers, according to the emergency service district's website.
