What you need to know
Precinct 4 covers the west side of Brazoria County, including a portion of Iowa Colony, Sandy Point, Holiday Lakes and West Columbia, among other cities.
Republican incumbent David Linder will face Democratic candidate Becky Singleton for the general election.

What are your qualifications for why you'd be a strong candidate in this role?
I’ve had the honor of serving as Brazoria County Commissioner Pct. 4 for the past 11 years. Prior to that, I served 20 years as a peace officer in the local community and have owned and operated serval different local small businesses.
If elected, what will be your top priorities?
My top priority over my next term will be to continue finding ways to make government more efficient so we can further reduce taxes & fees on residents and help make Brazoria County more affordability for families. What should the county's budgeting priorities be?
The vast majority of the county’s budget is tied to the justice systems - courts, clerks offices, district attorneys, sheriff’s office, jail, constables, etc. and that should continue to remain the county’s top priority with our budget because it serves as the main function of county governments in Texas.
How do you plan to help grow economic development in the county?
Development and bringing in high paying jobs into the county should not come at a cost to current property tax payers by handing out heavy tax incentives.
