Friendswood to celebrate Christmas with 40-foot tree

Friendswood’s Christmas celebration, Santa in the Park, will take place Dec. 13 at Stevenson Park, featuring a 40-foot Christmas tree.

Officials said this is the second-largest Christmas tree of any city tree in the nation.

Santa in the Park will take place from 3-8 p.m. Dec. 13 at Stevenson Park, located at 1100 S. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood.

In addition to the tree, according to the city’s social media page, the event will feature:

• Fireworks
• Holiday market
• Parade
• Local performances
• 40,000 pounds of snow
