RRISD board reveals renderings for Round Rock High School

The construction project for Round Rock High School was approved by the board in 2008 with the agreement that the construction be spread out into four phases, he said.

The board decided that a significant portion of the 100 building, as well as the entirety of both the 200 and 500 buildings, will be demolished. The master plan indicates that the space will possibly be used for additional parking, Albers said.

Trustees also approved hiring Austin-based architecture firm O'Connell Robertson to design Success High School.

Albers said the project is expected to be completed in summer 2014. On Aug. 8, the board approved spending $25 million to build the new high school and consolidate the alternative high school, which currently operates out of portables at Westwood and Stony Point high schools.

The board approved purchasing 22 acres of land on the north side of Gattis School Road near I-35 and just south of Voight Elementary School earlier this year.
