Round Rock ISD trustee Brian Sellers resigns

The board is scheduled to discuss the process of replacing Sellers at its Oct. 17 meeting. Sellers will remain on the board until a replacement is chosen, according to RRISD. Sellers' term expires in 2014.

"We respect the decision Brian has made and appreciate the five years of service he gave to our district," board president Catherine Hanna said in a news release. "His deep roots in the community and the fact that he attended Round Rock ISD schools were a great asset for our Board. We are going to miss his positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively."

Sellers is the second trustee to resign from the board in 2013. In April, former RRISD trustee Glen Colby announced his resignation, citing time demands of board service as his reason for stepping down.

"It has been an honor to serve in the community where I grew up," Sellers said.
