Round Rock ISD students in grades 3–8 received higher passing rate scores than the state average State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, or STAAR.
According to preliminary results released June 10 by the Texas Education Agency, RRISD students in eighth grade received a 95 percent passing rate for reading compared to the state's percentage rate of 89. Fifth graders received a 94 percent passing rate in math, compared to the state average of 87 percent.
Superintendent Jess Chvez said in a news release that he is proud of the hard work of the district's students and teachers.
"We strive for high passing rates and a narrowing of achievement gaps," he said.
