Round Rock ISD discusses process for replacing trustee Glen Colby

Bill Bingham, the district's legal counsel, said that Colby must serve on the board until the trustees appoint a new member to his position and that an election will need to be held in November.

Bingham said that in the past, the board accepted applications and conducted interviews with 12 candidates, but it will be up to the board how to proceed.

Trustee Diane Cox recommended choosing a candidate who is knowledgeable about the district.

"Certainly we're going into a superintendent search, so we want to make sure that it's somebody that will not have a big learning curve," Cox said.

The board made no decisions about the process for replacing Colby, and will continue its discussion at its April 18 meeting.
