A new Indian restaurant catering to North and South Indian cuisine has taken over the longtime Madras Pavilion location, which closed this summer after two decades. Mahendra “Maddy” Gawane and Executive Chef Bhupender Rawat opened Zaika Indian Contemporary Cuisine on June 27 at 9025 Research Blvd., Ste. 100, Austin. The restaurant features mainly North Indian cuisine, including curries, saag, korma and tandoori barbecue. Zaika also serves South Indian, Pakistani and Nepalese cuisine.
