Vicky Eckel took over ownership of Firehouse Subs at 11101 Burnet Road, Ste. 120, Austin, on July 18. The sub shop was founded by firefighters and focuses on hot subs with fresh ingredients. The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation gives back to first responders, and Eckel said she is involved in the Austin community.
