The Austin Community College district has introduced electric vehicle-charging stations at eight of the college's campuses and administrative buildings in Austin and one in Round Rock.
"[The charging stations] should go a long way toward making our customers feel much more comfortable owning and driving electric cars in Austin," said Richard Morgan, Austin Energy's green building and emerging technologies manager, in a statement.
Austin Energy, which partnered with ChargePoint America to install the locations, predicts that by 2020, Austin will have 36,000 electric cars on its roadways.
