Monsoon Dance Bollywood and Yoga studio opens Spicewood Springs Road location

Monsoon Dance Bollywood and Yoga Studio is hosting a grand opening March 5 to celebrate its new location at 8650 Spicewood Springs Road, Austin.

The event starts at 9 a.m. and includes free classes for children and adults, a meet-and-greet with Monsoon Dance leadership and instructors, selfie booths, dancing and a 25% discount on memberships for attendees.

Owner Shruti Anand opened Monsoon in 2012 as a way to connect with her Indian roots, according to a news release.

"I started by teaching children, then dancing with other adults, and it sort of organically grew into this dance school that is now an avenue for others to experience my culture as well," Anand said in the release.

Anand said the new location is more accessible and is also a nice cultural fit because it is located next to an Indian market and a traditional Indian restaurant.
