Hill Country Volvo Cars breaks ground, is expected to offer only electric vehicles by 2030

Hill Country Volvo Cars—a certified Volvo and Polestar dealership—broke ground July 21 at RM 620 and Buckner Lane in Northwest Austin.

The dealership, located at 10600 N. RM 620, plans to move to carrying only electric cars in the future. It will provide sales, parts and service for Volvo cars and also service vehicles from the all electric brand Polestar when it opens in fall 2023.

Volvo Cars is a Swedish multinational manufacturer of luxury vehicles. The company manufactures SUVs, station wagons and sedans. Polestar was acquired by Volvo in 2015.

“Since electric vehicles are going to be a big thing of the future, by 2025 they expect 50% of our vehicles to be electric and then by 2030 full-electric,” said Dean J. Buschick, vice president and co-owner of Volvo Cars dealership in Austin.

Buschick said all of the 2023 Volvo cars models coming out “will have electrification," meaning all vehicles will have some electric element. Hill Country Volvo Cars is the dealership’s second location in Austin and is expected to serve Lakeway as well as Cedar Park and Lake Travis areas. Its first location, Volvo Cars of Austin, 7216 N. I-35, Austin, offers gasoline, electric, plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid vehicles.
