Tao
Tao recently took over the former space of Mikado Ryotei.The menu features authentic Chinese cuisine with a variety of Sichuan dishes, including spicy diced chicken, black pepper beef cubes, twice-cooked pork, kung pao chicken, and spicy tripe and duck blood stew.
Perfume Palace
The perfume and cologne store opened in Lakeline Mall in June, staff told Community Impact. The store sells scents for women and men and is open seven days a week.
Ugly Dumpling
The dumpling restaurant opened its latest location in Austin in early June, according to a Facebook post. The new spot serves soup dumplings, dim sum, noodles, bao buns and bubble tea in the Arboretum.
Austin Rotisserie & Sandwicherie
The French rotisserie concept now has a second takeaway location, designed to offer faster pickup and shorter delivery times, according to a press release The restaurant is owned by Sophie Nathal and her husband Eric and sells rotisserie chicken, baguette sandwiches, soups and French pastries.

Aesop
Aesop, a fragrance and body care brand, launched a new store at Domain Northside. Patrons can shop for skin care based on their skin type, concerns or product ingredients; products include a parsley seed facial cleansing oil.
VeraBank
VeraBank expanded this June, launching its 42nd branch, which serves as its second full-service site in Austin. VeraBank offers personal and business banking, as well as wealth management services.
Ally Medical Emergency Room
The location opened along the Austin-Cedar Park line on June 30, according to a company spokesperson. The facility will be staffed by board-certified physicians and experienced clinical staff to treat both adults and children for a full range of emergencies.
Crunch Fitness
The gym is now open, offering cardio equipment, weights and exercise machines. Other features and amenities include personal training, group classes, locker rooms with showers, HydroMassage and tanning. The gym offers three different membership options.
Coming soon
Industrious
Flexible workspace company, Industrious, will open a new office space in North Austin, Jan. 2027. The workspace will include 314 office seats and 40 co-working seats, a pool, fitness center and lounge area for members.
810 Entertainment
810 Entertainment is headed for Northwest Austin, bringing arcade games, golf simulators and bowling to Austin EastVillage, CEO Mike Siniscalchi said. The business will also feature a restaurant and bar serving up American classics like loaded fries and wings.

JETSET Pilates
The pilates studio is slated to open in the Arboretum this fall, according to location owner Becky Chidester. The studio will mark Austin’s third location, bringing high-intensity, low-impact workouts to Northwest Austin.
Skin Pharm
The beauty company is launching its second Austin location, bringing light therapy, microneedling, botox and more to The Domain. Skin Pharm has 16 clinics across the country, providing medical-grade cosmetic dermatology to clients, according to a representative from the business.
What’s next
BoxLunch
A specialty retailer offering a range of pop culture merchandise is coming to Cedar Park. Construction on BoxLunch, a subsidiary of Hot Topic, will begin in September and is expected to be completed Nov. 13, according to a TDLR filing. The store will be located in Lakeline Mall.
PopUp Bagels
A new bagel shop may be headed to Domain Northside, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing, Construction on PopUp Bagels is expected to start on Aug. 1 and conclude in mid September. The menu features everything and poppy seed bagels, as well as plain and scallion schmears.
Relocations
Blush Bridal Lounge
The bridal boutique, owned by Erica Janke, relocated from its North Lamar lounge to a larger location down the road. Blush Bridal Lounge offers wedding gowns and accessories, stocking designers like Lillian West and Calla Blanche.
In the news
SPS PoolCare
SPS PoolCare, a pool service company headquartered in Austin, celebrated its five-year anniversary in July. The company offers pool cleaning, maintenance services, system repairs and pool restoration, among other services.
Closings
IKEA
IKEA will close its location in the Domain on Aug. 30, according to a representative from the brand. The store focused on planning for larger home projects with a pick up format, the brand detailed. The decision to close comes just two years after the store’s initial opening.
