Cabinetto, an Austin-based custom cabinet company, is focused on finding the perfect fit for each homeowner, without compromising quality, project manager Ali Cokadar said.
The backstory
Adnan Cokadar established Cabinetto in 2021 after working at a different wholesale cabinet company. Cokadar noticed that the cabinet industry was especially lucrative after the pandemic, and with investors’ help, he opened his own retail cabinet business.
What they offer
Cabinetto offers free consultations and quotes for custom cabinetry projects for any space, not just kitchens, project manager Ali Cokadar said, including laundry rooms and closets.
“Every project is unique within their selection, their budget and their timeline,” Ali Cokadar said.
For materials, the business offers domestic and imported cabinet lines, along with a wide range of wood species, finishes and hardware. The standard wood species is birch wood, which is compatible with paints and stains to give a more elegant look, Ali Cokadar explains.
“We have tons of finishes and door style options here,” Ali Cokadar said. “We don't sell anything [that’s] not going to be durable [for] 25-30 years—of course, it depends on the usage.”
The specifics
A homeowner’s custom cabinet journey starts with a consultation to make the process personalized to their needs. Along with a consultation, the Cabinetto team measures the space, offers a free 3D design and helps clients choose the materials that fit their style.
The project timeline differs based on client preferences, as well as the materials. The lead time for a project can range from days to weeks, depending on if Cabinetto already has the cabinets in stock.
“Sometimes we need to change the layout, in that case, some wall demolition, plumbing, electric [changes], etc.,” Ali Cokadar said. “We are involving our subcontractors in that case.”
Sorting out the details
Ali Cokadar wants to help educate clients about the custom building process, including how certain additions can increase the cost and scope of the project. In order to help customers form realistic expectations, the Cabinetto team is looking to add blog articles to its website that explain more about the cost of materials and timelines.
