The third permanent Skims storefront in the U.S. opened in Domain Northside on Aug. 28.
What they offer
The brand is known for its shapewear. When Skims first launched in 2019, the brand focused on offering shapewear in different skin colors, but has since added loungewear, swimwear and a men’s section.
Skims now offers a variety of clothing and sizes from leggings and dresses to bodysuits and waist trainers.
The impact
In November 2023, Skims held its first and only pop-up workshop at Domain Northside. President of Northwood Retail Ward Kampf said they saw an increase of shoppers during the workshop, leading him to believe that the permanent storefront is a positive addition to the Austin shopping community.
“We've seen people from all over ... with the workshop fly in to go to the store. ... I think it'll just bring a wider audience to the center,” Kampf said.
Kampf said Domain Northside is becoming one of the city’s top assets for retail shopping. He said despite the new luxury brand edition to the shopping center, the Northwood Retail team is focused on catering to the community and “not going all luxury.”
“We're very thankful for being in the city of Austin during this time of growth over the last eight years. It has really been nothing short of phenomenal,” Kampf said.
