North Austinites can keep an eye out for a new Vietnamese coffee shop with options such as espresso, phin and matcha.

Locally-owned and operated business Dam Coffee Bar is moving into a space across from ACC Highland Campus.
Owner Anh Bao said the coffee shop is expected to begin its soft opening phase on Aug. 7, given that everything goes according to plan with construction.
Customers will be able to enjoy 20% off all drinks on Aug. 7 and can look forward to some limited edition merchandise which will be given out at the business’s grand opening.
Some background
Bao moved to the United States from Vietnam in 2006 and has spent his adult life working in the food, beverage and bar scene.
He has spent some time this summer visiting Vietnam to study the country’s coffee making to ensure he would be showcasing an accurate representation of the drink.
With family still living in Vietnam, Bao said he has personal connections in the coffee industry which are helping fuel the authentic taste of Vietnamese coffee he hopes to bring to the area.
