Highland Homes is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, as well as a recent recognition by the Dallas Builders Association that named the Plano-based company the People’s Choice Builder of the Year for 2015.
The award was given at the association's 36th annual McSAM Awards in May. This is the fourth year that Highland has received the award.
“It is an honor for us to once again be the builder of choice for home buyers in North Texas,” said Rod Sanders, co-founder of Highland Homes, in a news release. “Our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction never wavers, and we remain dedicated to providing the best possible homebuilding and home buying experience.”
Highland Homes was founded in 1985 and has built 50,000 homes to date in Dallas, Austin, Houston and San Antonio. Its most recent development in Plano is the Villas of Pecan Creek, located at the northeast corner of Jupiter and Parker roads. Homes are available from the $350s.
“We built our company on a solid foundation of core values and guiding principles,” said Jean Anne Brock, co-founder of Highland Homes, in the release. “That approach has kept us in business for 30 years and through considerable real estate fluctuations. Our philosophy is to ensure that we always do the right thing for our employees, customers and partners.”
The DBA rewards builders for excelling in customer service and is based on a survey of thousands of homebuyers. Highland has also received other industry awards including seven JD Power & Associates awards and Texas Monthly’s 2006 “Best Companies to Work for in Texas.”
