Here are the latest updates on several road projects in New Caney and Porter. This list is not comprehensive.
Upcoming projects
1. Ford Road Segment 2
Project: Ford Road will be widened to four lanes with a turn lane between Needham Road and Ricewood Drive, and reconstructed between Ricewood Drive and the county line. The intersection at Ford Road and Ricewood Drive will be signalized, and ditches will be reconstructed.
Update: Design of Segment 2 was completed, according to a June 11 email from a Montgomery County Precinct 4 spokesperson.

- Funding sources: 2025 road bond; Precinct 4 commissioner's office; federal funding secured by U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Kingwood
Ongoing projects
2. Plum Grove Road expansion, signalization
Project: At the primary entrance to The Trails community, Plum Grove Road is being expanded into a four-lane roadway, a spokesperson for The Trails confirmed via email June 4.
Update: Construction is being completed where Plum Grove Road intersects with the Grand Parkway and ends one-third of a mile north of the intersection. Traffic signals are also being installed at Plum Grove Road north and south of where the road intersects with the Grand Parkway.
3. Hwy. 242 drainage
Project: Detention ponds are being constructed along Hwy. 242 between Needham Road and Hwy. 59. The contractor is R Civil Construction LLC, and the project aims to improve drainage along the corridor.
Update: Work is 90% complete as of a June 4 report from TxDOT.

4. FM 1314 rehabilitation
Project: A roughly 2-mile segment of FM 1314 is being rehabilitated between Hwy. 242 and north of McQueen Road. The project contractor is R Civil Construction LLC.
Update: Work has remained at 58% complete since March, according to a June 4 report from TxDOT.
