From haunted attractions to pumpkin patches, check out the fall events being held in New Caney and Porter throughout October. This list is not comprehensive. Events are subject to change.
1. Halloween at Big Rivers Waterpark
Visit the "Boo Rivers" or "Voodoo Bayou Haunted Trail" attractions at Big Rivers Waterpark & Adventures for the Halloween season. Boo Rivers features family-friendly fun including a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, costume contest and carnival rides. Voodoo Bayou features PG-13 entertainment such as a haunted trail and maze, and a zombie shooting range.
2. Woods of Kaos
Explore Kaos, a 30,000-square-foot haunted house located in Cleveland. The scream park also features entertainment such as the Ground Zero zombie paintball shoot, concerts, axe-throwing and escape rooms.

3. Oktoberfest
Sample more than 15 Oktoberfest brews on tap at this festival hosted by Back Pew Brewing. The event will include performances from live band The Homebrewed Brass Ensemble and food for purchase from local food trucks.
4. Free & low-cost pet vaccine event
Local pets can receive free or low-cost vaccines during this event, hosted by the ABBY Foundation, Alaska's Hope, Petco Love and Three Little Pitties. Dogs and cats can receive immunizations such as the rabies vaccine. Free microchipping will also be available. Pre-registration is required for this event, here.
5. Fall Festival
Fall entertainment will be offered by the Houston Metro Go Texan Committee-New Caney/Splendora Subcommittee. This event will feature a pumpkin decorating contest, bounce house, petting zoo, mutton busting, chili cook-offs, live music, car show and local vendors.
6. Valley Ranch Fall Fest
Pick out pumpkins from the patch at Valley Ranch’s Fall Fest. Families can also shop at a local vendor market and enjoy live music, fall photo opportunities, fall crafts, live music and fall treats from Russo’s New York Pizzeria.
7. A Spooky Stroll
Shop from local vendors at a pop-up market hosted by Final Gravity Brewpub. The event is family- and pet-friendly. The first 25 attendees will receive a free tote bag filled with goodies.
8. Pumpkins & Popcorn Movie Night
A family-friendly outdoor movie night will be held at the football field in Bull Sallas Park. The event is hosted by Montgomery County Precinct 4 Commissioner Matt Gray’s office, and the movie "Coco" will be screened. Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets for the event, and the first 200 people to arrive will receive free pumpkins.
9. Pickle Festival
The Montgomery County Market Days local vendor market will be holding a pickle-themed shopping event. Themed food and contests will take place.
10. Halloween Storytime & Costume Parade
Celebrate the season with a costume parade and Halloween story time at the R.B. Tullis Library. Books, crafts, songs and snacks will be available. Children ages 0-5 are welcome to participate, and tickets will be passed out at the Children’s Desk 15 minutes before the program begins. For more information, call 936-522-2895.
