Greg and Brigette Little opened Lumos in New Caney in October 2025 to provide an additional entertainment venue to help the industry keep up with rapid growth in the area.
Greg, who worked in a sales and marketing position at Shell Oil Company for 24 years, said the entertainment industry was a welcome change.
“It’s something that’s engaging with the community,” Greg said. “We love that this is a growing area, and Valley Ranch Town Center is incredible to be a part of.”
A closer look
Lumos is a 45,000-square-foot entertainment and private event venue located in Valley Ranch's Entertainment District. In addition to attractions including laser tag, bowling and ax throwing, the venue features a 6,000-square-foot gaming arcade and the Omni Arena, which offers immersive virtual reality gameplay.
“We’re about family entertainment, social entertainment and adults coming out and having fun together,” Greg said.
Greg added one of the most popular features of Lumos has been Embers Grill, a full-service restaurant and bar sporting several oversized LED screens for watching sports.
“We have regulars that come here every week to get their steak at the restaurant, and that’s the only reason they come here,” Greg said.
He added private event spaces can be booked at the restaurant and throughout the venue for birthday parties, company outings and other celebrations.
What's next
Moving forward, Greg said they would continue to search for new attractions to mix things up at the venue.
“We will continue to evolve,” Greg said. “We’ll see which attractions are the favorite ones and which ones are slower, and we’ll start to phase some of those out. We want to keep it fresh for people.”
Additionally, Greg said he and Brigette are continuing to search for new areas to expand the business.
“We’re looking at numbers two and three potentially around the Houston area, and we may go even farther than that,” Greg said.
Why it matters
Looking back on their first year of business, Greg said he finds a lot of joy in watching people have a great time at Lumos.
“I love it when people are out on the floor laughing and having a great time,” Greg said. “That means we’re doing our job, because people are able to just chill and forget about their worries. That’s the most rewarding part.”
