Consistent rainfall over roughly the last two weeks has resulted in the city of New Braunfels rescinding its Stage 2 water conservation designation that was announced in April.
New Braunfels Utilities announced May 17 via a news release that the water level within the city's portion of the Edwards Aquifer, called the J-17 well, has stayed above 650 feet mean sea level for 15 consecutive days, resulting in the updated conservation designation.
“New Braunfels Utilities, guided by the New Braunfels Water Conservation and Drought Management Plan, monitors water levels and other conditions and encourages ongoing conservation," said Melissa Krause, Chief Communications and Strategy Officer, via the release. "Conservation remains the most economical source of NBU’s water supply, and limiting water use may help customers manage their utility bills.”
NBU announced it would go to Stage 2 restrictions April 19.
