Wade Ivy has been named the new chief of schools in New Braunfels ISD and will begin his role July 26. In the position, Ivy will be responsible for supporting, developing and growing principal leadership through coaching, professional learning, collaboration and supervision, according to the district.
“My wife, Jan, and I grew up in New Braunfels and graduated from New Braunfels High School. We know firsthand the excellent academic and extracurricular programs NBISD has to offer,” Ivy said. “I am thrilled to join the extraordinary team of NBISD teachers, administrators and staff in their efforts to meet the needs of our students, their families and the greater community.”
A closer look
According to NBISD, Ivy brings 30 years of education experience to the district. He began his career in education as an English teacher at Bandera Middle School. In 2000, he began his path to leadership by serving as assistant principal at Hal Peterson Middle School in Kerrville ISD. He has since gained 23 years of administrative experience working both as a principal and assistant superintendent for Kerrville ISD.
