New Braunfels ISD officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 9 to unveil the new performing arts center and stadium at Long Creek High School, or LCHS.
The details
The new stadium has a 9,000-seat capacity and includes a press box, an eight-lane track, concessions, visitor dressing rooms and a turf practice field. 2026 will mark the first time the LCHS Dragons compete in a varsity district, have a senior class and be eligible for the UIL football playoffs, according to the district's website.

The new performing arts facility includes an auditorium, choir room, dance studio and band hall. NBISD Superintendent Laurelyn Arterbury said the performing arts center and stadium will provide students with more opportunities to "lead, learn, perform, compete and belong."

“It’s about teammates becoming family, students becoming leaders and creating the kind of memories that last long after graduation,” Campbell said.
Looking back
The projects—funded by the district's $313 million2024 bond—were completed as part of the school's Phase 2 reconstruction.
NBISD Board Secretary Morgan Renaud said the projects were made possible through collective efforts.
“These beautiful facilities are the result of vision, collaboration and a deep sense of pride from so many people, from our staff and district leaders, to community partners, families and voters,” Renaud said.
