The Comal ISD board of trustees announced the lone finalist in their search to fill the superintendent position during their Sept. 19 regular meeting. John Chapman III, previously the superintendent for the Carrolton-Farmers Branch ISD in north Texas, has been chosen to be the next superintendent at CISD.
Comal ISD Board President Jason York said the board is confident they made the correct decision for the future of the district.
“The announcement of the finalist for the superintendent position at Comal ISD is one that this board took extremely seriously,” York said. “We asked for community feedback, parental feedback, staff feedback, and we got it and we listened.”
Chapman holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from McMurry University, a Master of Education from Wayland Baptist University in Mid-Management and a Ph.D. of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University, according to CFBISD.
