A regular showcase for local food trucks could soon become a mainstay for New Braunfels through a proposal to host monthly food truck rallies at the parking lot of Columbus Club Hall, located at 111 Landa St., New Braunfels.
The association has received inquiries from mobile vendors in the past to operate out of the hall’s parking lot, according to Shannon Davies, the operations manager for the Columbus Club Hall.
Davies recently proposed a plan to the hall’s board of directors to utilize the space at least once a month for a food truck rally, and the board will meet Sept. 2 to discuss the proposal.
“With Wurstfest being canceled, I was like, ‘This is a perfect opportunity to try something of this caliber out,’” Davies said. “If all goes well, we can supplement that taste of Wurstfest that people look forward to all year. I wanted to maybe help the community feel normal for once.”
