The Faust Hotel is set to receive an update 94 years in the making.
The backstory
The hotel was built in downtown New Braunfels in 1929 and was known at first as the Traveler’s Hotel until 1936, according to the Texas Historical Commission. In 2022 the hotel and on-site restaurant and bar were sold to Andy Duettra and were brought under management of the Lark Hotel Group, a company that “specializes in luxury boutique independent hotels that are curated to elevate uplift the local communities,” said Rosalyn Vasquez, general manager of the Faust Hotel.
“We're going to be completing a bar, restaurant and kitchen full renovation, as well as the rooms. If everything goes to plan, it will be open in 2025,” Vasquez said. “We're going to be phasing out the [air-conditioning] window units. Some of the very petite rooms are going to be turned [from] two small rooms ... into one big room, and some additional suites are going to be created.”
