A locally owned New Braunfels meat company has changed its name.

1845 Meat Company changed its name after merging with Ranch House Mesquite Smoked Meats on Sept. 21, according to a news release. The meat company’s new name is 1845 Ranch House Smoked Meats.
The merger aims to bring together both businesses' “quality products” and “flavorful smoked meat traditions,” according to the release. The merger allows the Ranch House Smoked Meats brand, founded by Max and Marsha Stabel in 1978, to continue as part of 1845 Meat Company’s platform with extended capabilities.
