Westminster, an Austin-based not-for-profit senior living community, is in the process of acquiring the New Braunfels senior living community, EdenHill Communities.
The overview
The acquisition is expected to close by the end of the year, according to a Sept. 15 news release. Westminster officials said they will support residents, families, staff and volunteers throughout the transition.
EdenHill residents will not face a disruption in care during the process, according to the release. EdenHill Communities and Westminster agreed that:
Residents will continue to see quality care
Employees will have the opportunity to continue in their current roles
Westminster will communicate with residents, families, staff and stakeholders as they transition to ownership
Charles Borst, executive director of Westminster and CEO of Westminster Capital Group, said they are hoping to preserve the "values and mission that have made EdenHill Communities such a special place."
What they're saying
Kellie Stallings, board chair of EdenHill Communities, said Westminster will help EdenHill Communities continue quality care.
“After thoughtful consideration, we recognized that partnering with Westminster is the best path forward to ensure a strong future for EdenHill Communities,” Stallings said in the release. “Their commitment to nonprofit values, quality care and long-term stewardship aligns perfectly with our own.”
Karl Hittle, interim CEO and executive director of EdenHill Communities, said they are excited to join forces with Westminster.
"Together, we look forward to an exciting new chapter that honors our history while embracing future opportunities," Hittle said in the release.
