Work continues on reconstructing portions of Eldorado Parkway between Ridge Road and US 75, according to city officials.
Crews are expected to finish Eldorado Parkway later this spring before moving onto Virginia Parkway as part of a project that started in 2025. Check out details below on the project and five others in McKinney that are ongoing or planned to start soon.

Upcoming projects
1. Infrastructure improvements along Tennessee, Lamar, and Hunt streets
Project: Tennessee Street between Virginia and Lamar streets, Lamar Street between Church Street and SH 5 and Hunt Street between Kentucky Street and SH 5 will be reconstructed. The project includes waterline, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, illumination and landscape improvements.
Update: Design is 90% complete, and officials expect to bid the project this summer.

2. Graves Street and First Street infrastructure reconstruction
Project: A reconstruction of infrastructure, including waterlines, sanitary and storm sewer lines, and street pavement, is planned for a section of Graves Street between Greenwood Street and Harroun Avenue, as well as First Street between Graves and College streets.
Update: Design work is underway.

Ongoing projects
3. Eldorado Parkway and Virginia Parkway rehabilitation
Project: Reconstruction of failing concrete panels and broken curbs along Eldorado Parkway between Ridge Road and US 75, and Virginia Parkway between Stonebridge Drive and US 75.
Update: Work continues on Eldorado Parkway. Construction crews are beginning work on the last remaining section of Eldorado Parkway between Country Club Drive and US 75. Construction on Eldorado is expected to finish this spring before crews move to Virginia Parkway.

4. Medical Center Drive improvements
Project: Reconstruction and widening of Medical Center Drive between Frisco Road and Spur 399 as a four-lane divided roadway will take place. The road is currently three lanes, undivided.
Update: Construction is underway as of January 2026. The contractor has removed the existing pavement from the roadway’s southbound side. Traffic has been shifted to the northbound side.

5. Infrastructure improvements along Lela, Jones, Foote and Bradley streets
Project: Renewal of substandard infrastructure, including streets, drainage and utilities, will take place at various segments.
Update: Paving is underway on Lela Street. The project is expected to finish this summer.

6. US 380 and Community Avenue intersection improvements
Project: Improvements slated for the US 380 and Community Avenue intersection include additional turn lanes and traffic signal improvements.
Update: The new traffic signal has been placed for operation. Water and sanitary sewer relocations are underway.
