Kim Flom, who has 15 years of prior municipal government experience, has been hired as the new assistant city manager for the city of McKinney, according to a Nov. 6 city news release.
She will be replacing former Deputy City Manager Jose Madrigal, whose position has been vacant since September. Flom will start Jan. 2.
“Kim not only has a strong set of skills and experience, but she embodies our city’s values and will fit in well with our culture of building relationships with the entire community,” McKinney City Manager Paul Grimes said in the release. “We had more than 145 strong and compelling candidates for the position, but know we came out with the best person to join our leadership team, and she will play an instrumental role in helping our city flourish.”
Since 2015, Flom has worked in De Pere, Wisconsin, as the development services director where she oversaw a department providing economic development, planning, zoning, building permits, inspections, code enforcement and Geographic Information System services. Flom’s work has resulted in over $25 million of private investments through various development projects in De Pere, according to the release.
