New 1,100-home community Aster Park moves forward in McKinney

A new 414-acre gated community called Aster Park is being designed in McKinney.

The community is located on the north side of FM 1461 and about a mile east of FM 2478 in the northwest corner of the city. The neighborhood would offer luxury single-family homes, according to a news release.

At the May 17 McKinney City Council meeting, council approved a specific-use permit to allow for four independent private-street subdivisions within Aster Park.

International real estate firm Hines announced the project for Aster Park in January, stating that the new community will consist of more than 1,100 homesites with a variety of designs and floor plans from builders that include M/I Homes, Highland Homes, Toll Brothers and more.

In addition to private gated entrances, Aster Park will include a state-of-the-art clubhouse; a resort-style pool; and a private, extensive trail system, according to a Hines news release.

Construction on the homes is expected to begin this year, with sales to begin in 2023, the release stated.
