More details surrounding the Painted Tree master-planned community in McKinney were announced June 9, calling for 25 miles of looped paths, trails and other outdoor amenities. These will all be tied to the 1,100-acre, 3,400-home community that is expected to open next year.
Oxland Advisors, the development firm behind Painted Tree, has teamed up with Avid Trails, a national trail design-build expert, to help deliver on the appeal of outdoor spaces and amenities, Tom Woliver, founder of Oxland Advisors, said.
“Unique within North Texas, 9 miles of dedicated nature trails will be built in Painted Tree providing authentic ‘in nature’ experiences and maximizing existing open space with connections to the lake,” Woliver said in a news release. “This approach will take our trail experience to the next level.”
Consumer survey data collected annually by Zonda shows 69% of potential homebuyers in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and 54% nationwide rank walking trails as the most desired outdoor amenity, per the news release. Survey data also showed 63% of respondents highly rated lake, pond and water feature amenities, according to the release.
