Medical City McKinney awarded for excellency

This year, Medical City McKinney was honored for women’s care through the 2021 Women’s Care Awards by Healthgrades.

This is the fourth year that Medical City McKinney has received the five-star award for C-section delivery and the seventh year the hospital was awarded the five-star award for vaginal delivery.

"This national recognition speaks to our commitment to high-quality patient care and our promise to our patients—to provide excellence always, every action, every patient, every time," said Ernest C. Lynch III, Medical City McKinney CEO, in a news release. “These awards reinforce why Medical City McKinney is the destination choice for expectant mothers in McKinney and northern Collin County.”

The five-star rating indicates Medical City McKinney’s clinical outcomes are statistically better than expected and makes the hospital among the national leaders in labor and delivery, according to the news release.

“Women can feel confident selecting a hospital with a 5-star rating for providing exceptional women’s care,” said Dr. Brad Bowman, chief medical officer of Healthgrades, in a news release.

Medical City McKinney also received Magnet Recognition for Nursing Excellence in August for its nursing professionalism, teamwork and superiority in patient care. Now, the hospital has joined the global community of Magnet-recognized organizations.

"Achieving Magnet status also recognizes our culture of compassion, which is at the heart of our mission to the care and improvement of human life."
