Two areas of the city will be sprayed for mosquitoes beginning Oct. 1, according to a Sept. 27 news release from the city of McKinney.
The decision to treat the identified areas comes after local mosquitoes tested positive for the West Nile virus, the release stated.

Spraying will take place on Oct. 1-2 and will occur between 10 p.m.-5 a.m., weather permitting. Spraying will take place within a one-mile radius of the following areas on each date, including:
- Oct. 1: 4269 Eldorado Parkway, McKinney
- Oct. 2: 2800 Barnsley Drive, McKinney
