Additional spraying planned for West Nile virus-carrying mosquitoes in McKinney

The areas identified for spraying on Oct. 1-2 have both been previously treated in recent months, a city news release states.

The city has an “active program” for tracking and monitoring mosquito activity throughout the city, its website states. Residents in the area can expect to see signs posted at major intersections near areas that will be treated.

City officials advise residents in the area to stay indoors and bring pets inside during the spray period, according to the release.
