Baseball and softball fields at all three McKinney ISD high schools will receive new broadcasting systems this year.
MISD’s school board approved a $137,600 proposal at an Oct. 26 meeting from Musco Sports Lighting, the company that provides the current broadcasting system at MISD Stadium. MuscoVision broadcasts all football and soccer games played at the stadium.
The proposal includes a $15,000 contingency for any unforeseen conditions. All unused contingency funds will be refunded to the district at the end of the project.
The district’s facilities department is assisting the athletic department with the installation of the broadcasting systems, which are expected to be completed before baseball season. Patrons will be able to subscribe to MuscoVision to watch live games or view them on demand. Revenue will be split between MISD and Musco Sports Lighting; 70% will go to the district and 30% will go to Musco.
